SYNOPSIS: The purpose of this item is to inform the City Commission about the schedule of our 2014 Community Events. CONSIDERATIONS: The schedule for the calendar year 2014 Scottish Highland Games, Father Daughter Dance, Spring Family Festival, Babe Ruth Opening Day, July 4th Celebration of Freedom, Hometown Harvest and Winter Wonderland are as follows:. Saturday, January 18th& 19th Scottish Highland Games (ticketed event) Central Winds Park Friday, February 7th Father and Daughter Dance Winter Springs Senior Center Winter Springs Babe Ruth Baseball and Softball, Saturday, February 22nd Spring Season Opening Day Ceremony Central Winds Park Saturday, March 15th Spring Family Festival Winter Springs Town Center Friday, July 4th Celebration of Freedom Central Winds Park Informational 203 PAGE 1 OF 2- November 18,2013 Saturday, October 11th Hometown Harvest Winter Springs Town Center Saturday, October 18th Art Festival Sunday, October 19th Winter Springs Town Center Tuesday, November 11th Veteran's Day Memorial Ceremony Winter Springs Town Center Winter Wonderland Saturday, December 6th Holiday Parade & Christmas Tree Lighting eeth Elementary to Winter Springs Town Center FISCAL IMPACT: Funds are budgeted in FY 14 budget line code 7260-51214 for public safety. Other costs are funded via program promotional accounts as sponsorships/donations/vendor fees are collected. COMMUNICATION EFFORTS: This Agenda Item has been electronically forwarded to the Mayor and City Commission, City Manager, City Attorney/Staff, and is available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and the City's Server. Additionally, portions of this Agenda Item are typed verbatim on the respective Meeting Agenda which has also been electronically forwarded to the individuals noted above, and which is also available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and the City's Server; has been sent to applicable City Staff, Media/Press Representatives who have requested Agendas/Agenda Item information, Homeowner's Associations/Representatives on file with the City, and all individuals who have requested such information. This information has also been posted outside City Hall, posted inside City Hall with additional copies available for the General Public, and posted at five (5) different locations around the City. Furthermore, this information is also available to any individual requestors. City Staff is always willing to discuss this Agenda Item or any Agenda Item with any interested individuals. RECOMMENDATION: Staff requests the City Commission receive and review the information provided in this Agenda Item.
