What is the Problem Statement 2. What are the Alternatives proposed to Date, including the TSM Alternative 3. What are the Environmental Impacts (or is this a FONSI,which would be questionable) 4. Where is the Project in terms of the Federal timeline and budget 5. What is the design year and projection LOS for the areas impacted by the removal of the road (merge). POSSIBLE SOLUTION 6. Remove Blockage to Signs 7. Place better Signage (Electronic Flashing set far enough back to be seen clearly in advance). Currently, the sign location is so closed (and blocked),that a Driver would not know he/she passed the merge until they were right at the "point of no return" (See Pictures) CONCEPT DESIGN PROBLEMS ENVISIONED 8. Locking in cars(at the added parallel spots) causing congestion and safety concerns: a) getting out of their spots and trying to get into the traffic lane at the very END of the intersection b) Imagine turning right(from w/b 434 and trying to parallel park on the East Side—and the resultant safety concerns of those following such an individual) c) Believe that a car must signal so far back from an intersection when turning—this would design may not allow such) d) Though parallel parking spots, about 3—4 four spots are added on each side, they are likely of little to no value and likely to add to more incidents (accidents and congestion). e) Imaging the potential (jaywalking) when attempting to access the opposite side of the street. 9. The design seems to guarantees more back-up southbound as the "relief" merge will no longer bet there and allow the right turning cars to exit the que---events that would likely lead to many complaints now that there are many more dwellings and especially during school peak times. 10. How much construction down time is this going to take- is there a construction mitigation plan for the businesses-do they know how this will impact people from staying away from their place of business? How would this be communicated to the businesses and when (before or after a decision) 11. Is there going to be a new route will for individuals to take (rumor has it) or are they expected to use the one by the memorial? 12. Why are there surveyors out now, before this has been approved (or why else would you have sent the email to go over our concerns). How much money has been spent on this and other activities to date). 13. Would like to have access to the Environmental documents—when would that be. 14. The speed control Island seems to be problematic—i.e. the width of the road is already tight with parallel parking. And,the road is slow to begin with. By putting such an obstacle up (like the circle fountain by the road further North is a headache as it is so tight to make a turn. In this instance, you have also a barrier by which those with parallel parking will back up to. al 1 Jt. rm.. ... „, ^stk.- ' 4 k • '•U moo.... ,,r; ''' 4.. .0°‘ ' '' a.• • iti<” , ' •••■ir-' ' ....- .P• s■.-... `I• 1 "Oh , . • , .
