SYNOPSIS: City Building Official Michael Scheraldi is retiring from the City after 23 years of service to our citizens, effective May 10, 2013. Resolution 2013-09 is presented accordingly in recognition and honor of Michael and his 23 years of dedicated service to the City of Winter Springs. CONSIDERATIONS: Michael Scheraldi began his career with the City of Winter Springs in February of 1990 as a carpenter/electrician in the Public Works Department. In August of 1995, Mr. Scheraldi was transferred to the Building Department and earned the required license to become a residential building inspector. He subsequently earned additional licenses to become a residential/commercial inspector, a plans examiner, and a certified building official. In July of 2010, Mr. Scheraldi became the building official for the City of Winter Springs. Resolution 2013-09 is being submitted as part of the Consent Agenda for the May 13, 2013 City Commission meeting to receive Commission approval. During the "Awards and Presentations" section of the meeting, an executed original of Resolution 2013-09 will be presented to Michael Scheraldi in honor of his 23 years of service to the Citizens of Winter Springs. Consent 201 PAGE 1 OF 2 - May 13, 2013 FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact if Resolution 2013-09 is approved. COMMUNICATION EFFORTS: This Agenda Item has been electronically forwarded to the Mayor and City Commission, City Manager, City Attorney/Staff, and is available on the City’s Website, LaserFiche, and the City’s Server. Additionally, portions of this Agenda Item are typed verbatim on the respective Meeting Agenda which has also been electronically forwarded to the individuals noted above, and which is also available on the City’s Website, LaserFiche, and the City’s Server; has been sent to applicable City Staff, Media/Press Representatives who have requested Agendas/Agenda Item information, Homeowner’s Associations/Representatives on file with the City, and all individuals who have requested such information. This information has also been posted outside City Hall, posted inside City Hall with additional copies available for the General Public, and posted at five (5) different locations around the City. Furthermore, this information is also available to any individual requestors. City Staff is always willing to discuss this Agenda Item or any Agenda Item with any interested individuals. RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Commission approve Resolution 2013-09 in recognition and honor of Michael Scheraldi and his 23 years of dedicated service to the City of Winter Springs.
