REQUEST:
The Community Development Department requests that the City Commission make an
appointment to the Redevelopment Planning Agency (RPA) for the 17-92 Community
Redevelopment Agency (CRA).
SYNOPSIS:
There is currently no member of the City Commission on the RPA. This position was held
by former Commissioner Gary Bonner prior to his resignation.
The RPA member represents the City of Winter Springs at the monthly meetings of the
RPA and is assisted by Community Development staff in the review of items and
recommendations to the CRA Board.
CONSIDERATIONS:
The Redevelopment Planning Agency (RPA) is responsible for reviewing all requests to the
GRA for project funding as well as any other proposed programs or policies of the CRA.
The RPA receives these requests from either the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) or,
in certain cases, directly from the CRA staff. The RPA reviews the projects, program
proposals, or policies, in conjunction with recommendations from the TAC and/or CRA
staff, and then makes recommendations to the CRA Board for final action.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no associated fiscal impact related to this appointment.

COMMUNICATION EFFORTS:
This Agenda Item has been electronically forwarded to the Mayor and City Commission,
City Manager, City Attorney/Staff, and is available on the City’s Website, LaserFiche, and
the City’s Server. Additionally, portions of this Agenda Item are typed verbatim on the
respective Meeting Agenda which has also been electronically forwarded to the individuals
noted above, and which is also available on the City’s Website, LaserFiche, and the City’s
Server; has been sent to applicable City Staff, Media/Press Representatives who have
requested Agendas/Agenda Item information, Homeowner’s Associations/Representatives
on file with the City, and all individuals who have requested such information. This
information has also been posted outside City Hall, posted inside City Hall with additional
copies available for the General Public, and posted at five (5) different locations around the
City. Furthermore, this information is also available to any individual requestors. City Staff
is always willing to discuss this Agenda Item or any Agenda Item with any interested
individuals.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Community Development Department recommends that the City Commission appoint a
member of the City Commission to serve as a member of the Redevelopment Planning
Agency.
