HomeMy WebLinkAbout2012 03 12 Consent 204 Resolution Number 2012-08 Recognize Retirement of Roger Paynter COMMISSION AGENDA     Informational Consent X ITEM204 Public Hearings Regular       March 12, 2012KSKL Regular MeetingCity ManagerDepartment         REQUEST: The Utility/Public Works Department requests that the City Commission approve Resolution Number 2012-08 recognizing the retirement of Utility Department employee Roger Paynter   SYNOPSIS: The City Commission is very appreciative of all of the employees who faithfully serve the citizens and City Commission of Winter Springs.  For long-serving employees, the City Commission has expressed their interest in presenting such employees with a Resolution at a City Commission meeting.  In such cases, a Resolution is submitted to the City Commission on the Consent Agenda for approval.  Upon approval by the City Commission, the applicable employee is either presented with the Resolution at the same City Commission meeting during “Awards and Presentations” or attends a future City Commission meeting to receive their Resolution. CONSIDERATIONS: Utility Department employee Roger Paynter began his career with the City of Winter Springs on March 23, 1992 as a Wastewater Operator and he has continued in that capacity since that time.  Mr. Paynter's last day with the City will be March 26, 2012.  Resolution Number 2012-08 is being submitted during the Consent Agenda of this Meeting for your Approval.  Resolution 2012-08 will be presented to Roger Paynter at a future meeting in honor of his 20 years of service to the City of Winter Springs or provided to him separately if needed.     Consent 204 PAGE 1 OF 2 - March 12, 2012 FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact if Resolution Number 2012-08 is approved . COMMUNICATION EFFORTS: This Agenda Item has been electronically forwarded to the Mayor and City Commission, City Manager, City Attorney/Staff, and is available on the City’s Website, LaserFiche, and the City’s Server. Additionally, portions of this Agenda Item are typed verbatim on the respective Meeting Agenda which has also been electronically forwarded to the individuals noted above, and which is also available on the City’s Website, LaserFiche, and the City’s Server; has been sent to applicable City Staff, Media/Press Representatives who have requested Agendas/Agenda Item information, Homeowner’s Associations/Representatives on file with the City, and all individuals who have requested such information. This information has also been posted outside City Hall, posted inside City Hall with additional copies available for the General Public, and posted at five (5) different locations around the City. Furthermore, this information is also available to any individual requestors. City Staff is always willing to discuss this Agenda Item or any Agenda Item with any interested individuals.   RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Commission approve Resolution Number 2012-08 in honor of Utility Department employee Roger Paynter and his 20 years of dedicated service to the City of Winter Springs. 'WHEREAS, ROGER PAYNTER has provided the residents of Winter Springs with 20 years of dedicated and distinguished service in the Winter Springs Utility Department; and 'WHEREAS, ROGER PAYNTER joined the City of Winter Springs on March 23, 1992 as a Wastewater Operator in the Utility Department where he has since been an instrumental member of the operations team at the East Water Reclamation Facility on Winter Springs Boulevard; and 'WHEREAS, ROGER PAYNTER advanced his knowledge and skills through his career by ultimately receiving a Class A Wastewater Operator License in 2002 which is the highest licensure level by the State; and 'WHEREAS, ROGER PAYNTER has shown great commitment and pride in working for the City of Winter Springs for the last 20 years. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Winter Springs, Florida as follows: SECTION I. — That the Mayor and Commission, City Manager, and Staff of the City of Winter Springs upon the occasion of ROGER PAYNTER'S retirement takes great pleasure to recognize and honor him for his uncommon level of distinguished service to the residents of Winter Springs through his employment in the Winter Springs Utility Department. SECTION 11.� — That this Resolution commending the services of ROGER PAYNTER be recorded upon the official Public Records and Minutes of the City Commission of the City of Winter Springs, Florida. SECTION Ill. — That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to ROGER PAYNTER with our sincerest thanks for his many contributions.
