REQUEST:
The Parks and Recreation Department requests the City Commission approve Resolution
Number 2015-22 recognizing the retirement of Parks and Recreation employee Susie
Coffman.
SYNOPSIS:
The City Commission is very appreciative of all of the employees who faithfully serve the
citizens and City Commission of Winter Springs. For long-serving employees, the City
Commission has expressed their interest in presenting such employees with a Resolution at
a City Commission meeting. In such cases, a Resolution is submitted to the City
Commission on the Consent Agenda for approval. Upon approval by the City Commission,
the applicable employee is either presented with the Resolution at the same City
Commission meeting during "Awards and Presentations" or attends a future City
Commission meeting to receive their Resolution. Resolution Number 2015-22 is thus
presented to recognize the retirement of Parks and Recreation employee Susie Coffman.
CONSIDERATIONS:
• Parks and Recreation employee Susie Coffman began her career with the City of
Winter Springs on October 12,1989 as a Senior Center Manager.
• Susie has assisted in improving the quality of life for many seniors through a variety
of activities and trips at our Senior Center.
• Susie's last day with the City will be on July 31, 2015.
• Resolution Number 2015-22 is being submitted as a Consent Agenda item for
Commission approval. Then, during the Awards and Presentations section of this
regular meeting, Resolution 2015-22 will be presented to Susie Coffman in honor of

her 26 years of service to the City of Winter Springs.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
COMMUNICATION EFFORTS:
This Agenda Item has been electronically forwarded to the Mayor and City Commission,
City Manager, City Attorney/Staff, and is available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and
the City's Server. Additionally, portions of this Agenda Item are typed verbatim on the
respective Meeting Agenda which has also been electronically forwarded to the individuals
noted above, and which is also available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and the City's
Server; has been sent to applicable City Staff, Media/Press Representatives who have
requested Agendas/Agenda Item information, Homeowner's Associations/Representatives
on file with the City, and all individuals who have requested such information. This
information has also been posted outside City Hall, posted inside City Hall with additional
copies available for the General Public, and posted at five (5) different locations around the
City. Furthermore, this information is also available to any individual requestors. City Staff
is always willing to discuss this Agenda Item or any Agenda Item with any interested
individuals.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission approve Resolution Number 2015-22 in honor
of Parks and Recreation employee Susie Coffman and her 26 years of dedicated service to
the City of Winter Springs.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WINTER
SPRINGS, FLORIDA, RECOGNIZING SUSIE COFFMAN FOR HER 26
YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE AS AN EMPLOYEE OF THE CITY OF
WINTER SPRINGS; AND EXPRESSING OUR APPRECIATION ON BEHALF
OF THE CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, SUSIE COFFMAN has provided the residents of Winter Springs with 26 years of dedicated and
distinguished service in the Winter Springs Parks and Recreation Department; and
WHEREAS, SUSIE COFFMAN joined the City of Winter Springs on October 12, 1989 as a Senior Center
Manager in the Parks and Recreation Department; and
WHEREAS, SUSIE COFFMAN has assisted in improving the quality of life for many seniors through a
variety of activities and trips at our senior center; and
WHEREAS, SUSIE COFFMAN was an instrumental team member in the opening of the Senior Therapy
Pool programs in 2009; and
WHEREAS, SUSIE COFFMAN has shown great commitment and pride in working for City the last 26
years.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Winter Springs,
Florida as follows:
SECTION I – That the Mayor and Commission, City Manager, and Staff of the City of Winter Springs upon
the occasion of SUSIE COFFMAN’S retirement takes great pleasure to recognize and honor her for her uncommon
level of distinguished service to the residents of Winter Springs through her employment in the Winter Springs Parks
and Recreation Department.
SECTION II – That this Resolution commending the services of SUSIE COFFMAN be recorded upon the
official Public Records and Minutes of this City Commission of the City of Winter Springs, Florida.
SECTION III – That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to SUSIE COFFMAN with our sincerest thanks
for her many contributions.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, IN A REGULAR MEETING ASSEMBLED ON THE
DAY OF JULY, 2015.
