Home My WebLink About2015 03 23 Consent 304 Resolution 2015-08, Appreciation to Information Services Employee Ron Kandzer COMMISSION AGENDA Informational Consent X ITEM 304 Public Hearings g Regular March 23, 2015 KS JD Regular Meeting City Manager Department REQUEST: The Information Services Department requests that the City Commission approve Resolution Number 2015-08 recognizing the retirement of Information Services Department employee Ron Kandzer. SYNOPSIS: The City Commission is very appreciative of all of the employees who faithfully serve the citizens and City Commission of Winter Springs. For long-serving employees, the City Commission has expressed their interest in presenting such employees with a Resolution at a City Commission meeting. In such cases, a Resolution is submitted to the City Commission on the Consent Agenda for approval. Upon approval by the City Commission, the applicable employee is either presented with the Resolution at the same City Commission meeting during the"Awards and Presentations" portion of the agenda or the employee attends a future City Commission meeting to receive their Resolution. Upon approval, Resolution 2015-08 will be presented to Mr. Kandzer at a future City Commission meeting. CONSIDERATIONS: Information Services employee Ron Kandzer began his career with the City of Winter Springs on April 4, 2005, as the City's Systems Analyst/Kiva Administrator. Kiva was the City's former permitting, development, land information, and code enforcement software which has since been replaced by New World Systems software. Ron was instrumental in moving the City toward full utilization of the Kiva software system as well as the successful migration from Kiva to New World Systems and the successful implementation of ProjectDox, the new electronic plans submission and review system. Ron is to be Consent 304 PAGE 1 OF 2- March 23,2015 commended for his service and dedication to the City. Resolution Number 2015-08 is being submitted as a Consent Agenda item for Commission approval. Upon approval, Resolution 2015-08 will be presented to Ron Kandzer at a future Commission Meeting in honor of his 10 years of service and dedication to the City of Winter Springs. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact if Resolution 2015-08 is approved. COMMUNICATION EFFORTS: This Agenda Item has been electronically forwarded to the Mayor and City Commission, City Manager, City Attorney/Staff, and is available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and the City's Server. Additionally, portions of this Agenda Item are typed verbatim on the respective Meeting Agenda which has also been electronically forwarded to the individuals noted above, and which is also available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and the City's Server; has been sent to applicable City Staff, Media/Press Representatives who have requested Agendas/Agenda Item information, Homeowner's Associations/Representatives on file with the City, and all individuals who have requested such information. This information has also been posted outside City Hall, posted inside City Hall with additional copies available for the General Public, and posted at five (5) different locations around the City. Furthermore, this information is also available to any individual requestors. City Staff is always willing to discuss this Agenda Item or any Agenda Item with any interested individuals. RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Commission approve Resolution Number 2015-08. If this Resolution is approved, a presentation of the Resolution to Information Services employee Ron Kandzer will then be made at a future Commission Meeting in honor of his 10 years of dedicated service to the City of Winter Springs. WHEREAS, RON KANDZER joined the City of Winter Springs on April 4, 2005 as the Systems Analyst/Kiva Administrator;and WHEREAS, RON KANDZER played a key role in the successful acquisition and implementation of the City's first electronic plans submission and review system;and WHEREAS, RON KANDZER, throughout his tenure, assisted City staff in creating and greatly improving efficiencies through technology;and WHEREAS, RON KANDZER has provided the residents of Winter Springs with 10 years of dedicated and distinguished service in the Winter Springs Information Services Department. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Winter Springs, Florida as follows: SECTION I — That the Mayor and Commission, City Manager, and Staff of the City of Winter Springs upon the occasion of RON KANDZER'S retirement takes great pleasure to recognize and honor him for his uncommon level of distinguished service to the residents of Winter Springs through his employment in the Winter Springs Information Services Department. SECTION II — That this Resolution commending the services of RON KANDZER be recorded upon the official Public Records and Minutes of this City Commission of the City of Winter Springs,Florida. SECTION III — That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to RON KANDZER with our sincerest thanks for his many contributions.
