Augustson Date: October 27, 2014 This Proclamation corresponds with Awards and Presentations "100" for the October 27, 2014 City Commission Regular Meeting and was presented on this date by Mayor Charles Lacey. pR OFFICE OF THE MAYOR WINTER SPRINeS,FLORIDA WHEREAS From the founding of this great country-the United States of America, so many of our citizens have defended our country, and have given their all, serving their homeland and numerous countries around the globe — all in hope of a better life with liberty,justice, and independence; and IYHEREAS, Our beloved Veterans who sacrificed much as they served our country, their efforts have not been forgotten, including the fact that some Veterans made the ultimate sacrifice—and although those who loyally served during wartime can never be repaid, we will always remember and hold dear, what our Veterans have done and how they fought hard for keeping peace in the hearts of our citizens; and WHEREAS. As a member of the United Stated Navy, ALBERT E. AUGUSTSON bravely and selflessly served the United States of America during World War II, served on the USS Tillman, and in spite of the intense peril and danger, their skills served them well; and his service included the Atlantic, Pacific, Mediterranean, Africa, Italy, Sicily, France, England, Scotland, and Guam;and through his noble, courageous, brave, and most honorable efforts, our country is part of a much better world; and WHEREAS, ALBERT AUGUSTSON and some of his fellow service members took part on a journey to our nation's Capitol, Washington D.C., on October 25, 2014-a"Tour of Honor";courtesy of the Honor Flight Network and Honor Flight Central Florida; and 1(HEREAS. Honor Flight Central Florida was incredibly proud to take ALBERT AUGUSTSON and his fellow Veterans on their Honor Flight, so that these heroic Veterans could personally see the Memorials which were built to honor those who served, for their most valiant and admirable service to our country and for all their efforts to help protect us and keep us safe; and litHEREAS, As fellow Winter Springs' citizens, it is such a privilege to recognize ALBERT AUGUSTSON for all he has done,for freedom, for the good of this great country of ours, and for peace in our world.
