REQUEST:
The Police Department requests the Commission accept a donation in the amount of $8,700
from Action Church, Inc. for the purpose of purchasing a ballistic blanket from Instant
Armor, Inc.
SYNOPSIS:
Acceptance of this donation will allow the Police Department to purchase a ballistic blanket
which will be utilized during high risk tactical situations
CONSIDERATIONS:
Action Church has requested this donation to be utilized for a specific piece of safety
equipment that will assist in protecting the lives of police officers and victims during high
risk tactical operations. The Instant Armor Inc, "1st Responder Tactical Blanket" is large
enough to provide ballistic protection for a team of officers and victims during planned and
unplanned tactical operations.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There will be no cost impact to the General Fund; conversely, a positive impact will be
realized in the General Fund by accepting these donations. There are no matching funds
required of the City for this acceptance.
COMMUNICATION EFFORTS:
This Agenda Item has been electronically forwarded to the Mayor and City Commission,
City Manager, City Attorney /Staff, and is available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and

the City's Server. Additionally, portions of this Agenda Item are typed verbatim on the
respective Meeting Agenda which has also been electronically forwarded to the individuals
noted above, and which is also available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and the City's
Server; has been sent to applicable City Staff, Media/Press Representatives who have
requested Agendas /Agenda Item information, Homeowner's Associations/Representatives
on file with the City, and all individuals who have requested such information. This
information has also been posted outside City Hall, posted inside City Hall with additional
copies available for the General Public, and posted at six (6) different locations around the
City. Furthermore, this information is also available to any individual requestors. City Staff
is always willing to discuss this Agenda Item or any Agenda Item with any interested
individuals.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Police Department recommends the Commission approve the acceptance of the
donation from Action Church Inc, totaling $8,700 for the purpose of purchasing a ballistic
blanket from Instant Armor, Inc. and to authorize the City Manager to execute and approve
all documents associated with this item.

All sales of the Tactical Blanket SystemsTm and related products are conducted exclusively
through Instant Armor, Inc.
Finally, the Tactical Blanket SystemsTm are manufactured 100% in these United States.
