Bush and former Commissioner Sally McGinnis ". PROCLAMATI ON ��NTE7 0 , z � OFFICE OF THE MAYOR WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA j .' A HEREAS, SALLY CGINNIS served in various capacities before running for Elected Office, to include serving on many of the City's Advisory Boards and Committees to include the "Beautification of Winter Springs Board ", the "Board of Adjustment ", the "Central Winds Park Expansion Ad Hoc Advisory Committee ", the "Charter Review Committee" (2000- 2001), and the Planning and Zoning Board /Local Planning Agency; and though she contributed greatly to all of these Advisory Boards and Committees, of special note is her service on the "Central Winds Park Expansion Ad Hoc Advisory Committee" of which she was very insightful and supportive of the Committee's efforts which has helped make Central S pp p Winds Park the remier park that is; p p trtand I HEREAS, SALLY MCGINNIS was first Sworn into Office as Commissioner for District Four on Monday, December 2, 2002 for a four year Term of Office and again Sworn into Office on Monday, December 4, 2006 as Commissioner for District Four for a consecutive second four year Term of Office; and over these eight years as a Commissioner for the City of WHERE Springs, she has served our City well and always with a concern for the citizen's best interests in mind; and Y�HEREAS, SALLY MCGINNIS coming from a background in social services, has been incredibly concerned about civic and community issues, and often spoke for many who did not have a voice, but through her, they in fact did have a voice; and WHEREAS, SALLY MCGINNIS worked exceptionally hard to do what she could regarding issues with the closing of the Winter Springs Golf Course, and to improve the quality of life for the City's residents, not just in her community, but throughout the City; and WHEREAS, SALLY MCGINNIS loved Special Events and thought that the City should do whatever it could to provide occasions to be remembered for all of the families in the community; and strived to offer suggestions and ideas about making WHERE occasions, even in tough times - a reality; and IIHEREAS, SALLY MCGINNIS, went above and beyond her duties as a Commissioner for the City of Winter Springs and served on numerous community Committees - to promote many deserving efforts in Winter Springs; and was a great supporter of many of the City's jewels, such as "Hound Ground" - the City's Dog Park, of which she visited often.
