Bush and former Commissioner Sally McGinnis ". pRocLAmATIoN �sNrE „, v O� A Z OFFICE OF THE MAYOR �R,or' WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA W HEREAS, JOHN F BUSH was first Sworn into Office as Mayor on Monday, December 6, 1993 and served a three year Term of Office; was then Sworn into Office as Mayor on Monday, December 2, 2002 for a four year Term of Office and �agaain Sworn into Office on Monday, December 4, 2006 as Mayor for a consecutive second four year Term of Office; and YllHEREAS, over these eleven years as the City of Winter Springs' Mayor, JOHN F. J USH served our City with the citizen's best interests in mind, strived to be accessible, improved communications, worked to expand the City's tax base and in countless other ways improved the quality of life in this community; and W HEREAS, JOHN F. BUSH was available to all constituents, and always made time to meet with a business owner or a resident. In fact, because of his accessibility, he was exceedingly diligent in getting answers from City Staff to citizen's inquiries, at any time of day and without regard to whether the request was large or small - as he deemed important any citizen WHERE and IIHEREAS, JOHN F. BUSH as the City of Winter Springs' Mayor, served on numerous Committees, such as the Florida League of Cities; Tri- County League of Cities; Central Florida Council of Mayors; Mayors /Managers Group; Council of Local Governments in Seminole County (CALNO); City /County Advisory Committee; Drivers' Education Task Force for Seminole County Public Schools; Envision Seminole; Greater Seminole Chamber of Commerce; myregion.org; and the Rotary Club of Winter Springs - all to help in some way, improve life, in the City of Winter Springs; and W HEREAS, JOHN F. BUSH, through his fortitude, confidence, and determination, made countless contributions to our community in so many ways - from working to help provide retired Police cars for High School Driver's Education programs, to caring for the needs of our mentally disabled citizens, to working tirelessly to try and bring into our City, top research and WHERE businesses; and IIHEREAS, In 2006, JOHN F. BUSH was nominated by the City Commission as a nominee for the Florida League of Cities' "Cities Of Excellence” Program as "Mayor Of The Year" and was selected as a Finalist in this category; and as noted in the Narrative submitted for his Nomination, as Mayor of the City of Winter Springs, he "Earned the respect and confidence of other Elected Officials and community leaders in Winter Springs and Seminole County." How very true! I NOW THEREFORE, I, CHARLES LACEY, Mayor of the City of Winter Springs, do hereby proclaim this day of February 4th, 2011 in honor of the incredible contributions and leadership of JOHN F.
