REQUEST: The Utility/Public Works Department requests that the City Commission
approve Resolution Number 2011-13 recognizing the retirement of Utility
Department employee Michael Goodall
SYNOPSIS:
The City Commission is very appreciative of all of the employees who faithfully serve the
citizens and City Commission of Winter Springs. For long-serving employees, the City
Commission has expressed their interest in presenting such employees with a Resolution at
a City Commission meeting. In such cases, a Resolution is submitted to the City
Commission on the Consent Agenda for approval. Upon approval by the City
Commission, the applicable employee is either presented with the Resolution at the same
City Commission meeting during “Awards and Presentations” or attends a future City
.

CONSIDERATIONS:
Utility Department employee Michael Goodall began his career with the City of
Winter Springs on November 28, 1988 as a Maintenance Man in the Public Works
Department and progressed to the Reclaimed Water Team Leader position in the Utility
Department. Mr. Goodall’s last day with the City will be April 29, 2011. Resolution
Number 2011-13 is being submitted during the Consent Agenda of this Meeting for your
Approval. Then, during the Awards and Presentation section of this Regular Meeting,
Resolution 2011-13 will be presented to Michael Goodall in honor of his 22 years of
service to the City of Winter Springs.

FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact if Resolution Number 2011-13 is approved.
COMMUNICATION EFFORTS:
This Agenda Item has been forwarded to the Mayor and City Commission; City
Manager; City Attorney/Staff; placed in Press Packets; placed in the City Hall (Lobby)
City Commission Meeting binder; and is available on the City’s Website, LaserFiche, and
the City’s Server. Additionally, information related to this Agenda Item has been sent to
media/press representatives who have requested Agendas/Agenda Item information, all
Homeowner’s Associations on file with the City, all individuals who have requested
Agendas/Agenda Item information, Department Directors; and also posted outside City
Hall; posted inside City Hall with additional copies available for the general public; and
posted at five (5) different locations around the City.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission approve Resolution Number 2011-13
in honor of Utility Department employee Michael Goodall and his 22 years of dedicated
service to the City of Winter Springs.

dedicated and distinguished service in the Winter Springs Utility and Public Works Department; and

Maintenance Man in the Public Works Department; and

HEREAS, MICHAEL GOODALL
was promoted through the years to Light Equipment Operator,
Maintenance Mechanic, Irrigation Foreman, and Reclaimed Water Team Leader within the Utility and Public Works
Departments based on his skills, aptitude, and dedication; and

HEREAS, MICHAEL GOODALL
has shown great commitment and pride in working for City that he
has also resided in for the last 39 years.
