April 11, 2011 Authorization Regular Meeting REQUEST: The Utility/Public Works Department requests that the City Commission approve Resolution Number 2011-13 recognizing the retirement of Utility Department employee Michael Goodall SYNOPSIS: The City Commission is very appreciative of all of the employees who faithfully serve the citizens and City Commission of Winter Springs. For long-serving employees, the City Commission has expressed their interest in presenting such employees with a Resolution at a City Commission meeting. In such cases, a Resolution is submitted to the City Commission on the Consent Agenda for approval. Upon approval by the City Commission, the applicable employee is either presented with the Resolution at the same City Commission meeting during “Awards and Presentations” or attends a future City . Commission meeting to receive their Resolution CONSIDERATIONS: Utility Department employee Michael Goodall began his career with the City of Winter Springs on November 28, 1988 as a Maintenance Man in the Public Works Department and progressed to the Reclaimed Water Team Leader position in the Utility Department. Mr. Goodall’s last day with the City will be April 29, 2011. Resolution Number 2011-13 is being submitted during the Consent Agenda of this Meeting for your Approval. Then, during the Awards and Presentation section of this Regular Meeting, Resolution 2011-13 will be presented to Michael Goodall in honor of his 22 years of service to the City of Winter Springs. 2011 04 11 Consent 207 Resolution 2011-13 Goodall Retirement REGULAR MEETING – APRIL 11, 2011 CONSENT AGENDA ITEM 207 PAGE 2 OF 2 FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact if Resolution Number 2011-13 is approved. COMMUNICATION EFFORTS: This Agenda Item has been forwarded to the Mayor and City Commission; City Manager; City Attorney/Staff; placed in Press Packets; placed in the City Hall (Lobby) City Commission Meeting binder; and is available on the City’s Website, LaserFiche, and the City’s Server. Additionally, information related to this Agenda Item has been sent to media/press representatives who have requested Agendas/Agenda Item information, all Homeowner’s Associations on file with the City, all individuals who have requested Agendas/Agenda Item information, Department Directors; and also posted outside City Hall; posted inside City Hall with additional copies available for the general public; and posted at five (5) different locations around the City. RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Commission approve Resolution Number 2011-13 in honor of Utility Department employee Michael Goodall and his 22 years of dedicated service to the City of Winter Springs.
