REQUEST: Utility Department Requesting Approval to piggyback off the Florida
Sheriffs Association Bid Award 10 -18 -0907, Spec #84, for the purchase one
(1) 20KW Generator.
SYNOPSIS: The purpose of this Board item is to request approval for the purchase of one (1)
20KW Generator from Tradewinds Power Corporation to be permanently installed
at Lift Station #17 West in Parkstone.
CONSIDERATIONS:
This item is needed to continue the plan to provide permanent emergency power at
key wastewater lift stations throughout the City. The Utility Budgeted for one (1) stationary
generator to be purchased this year which will be the 5 lift station generator. The generator
will be installed at LS #17 West at 100 Windsor Crescent Street in Parkstone.
This is a high priority wastewater lift station due to the topography in the area. Loss
of power to this lift station can quickly result in overflows of raw sewage from the manholes.
Upon loss of power, the generator will automatically start up and switch to emergency power.
The Florida Sheriffs Association has already bid this item under Bid #10 -18 -0907.
Tradewinds Power Corporation's bid is $29,507.00
FISCAL IMPACT:
$30,000 was budgeted and is available under Utility line code #3600 - 64000.

COMMUNICATION EFFORTS:
This Agenda Item has been forwarded to the Mayor and City Commission; City
Manager; City Attorney /Staff; placed in Press Packets; placed in the City Hall (Lobby)
City Commission Meeting binder; and is available on the City's Website, LaserFiche, and
the City's Server. Additionally, information related to this Agenda Item has been sent to
media/press representatives who have requested Agendas/Agenda Item information, all
Homeowner's Associations on file with the City, all individuals who have requested
Agendas/Agenda Item information, Department Directors; and also posted outside City
Hall; posted inside City Hall with additional copies available for the general public; and
posted at five (5) different locations around the City.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that approval be granted to piggyback off Florida Sheriff's Association
bid #10-18-0907 Specification #84 for the purchase of one (1) 20KW generator from Tradewinds
Power Corp. for a total cost of $29,507.00 payable from Utility line code 3600 - 64000.
