WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA
W HEREAS, Bob Rucci is a much beloved City of Winter Springs resident who has served the City in numerous ways,
including serving on a couple of the City's Advisory Committees; and
I HEREAS, Bob Rucci has a passion for dogs and animals and about ten years ago, assisted with a neighboring city's
Dog Park which was a new concept then, and because of that experience, thought that Winter Springs
should also have a Dog Park — a place where dogs and their owners can enjoy a dedicated place for playing
and socializing for dogs and their human companions; and
W HEREAS, Bob Rucci and some fellow residents formed an organization known as F.L.O.P — Friends of Leash Optional
Parks; and Bob Rucci served as its President until recently; and through his excellent leadership and his
high - charged spirit, Bob kept everyone focused, and became known as the "face" of this organization; and
W HEREAS, Bob Rucci and F.L.O.P — Friends of Leash Optional Parks raised funds; brought in Vendors; brought in
advertising partners; attended City Commission Meetings and lobbied with all their heart for a Dog Park; and
--- I I I' R I \ ` Specifically because of Bob Rucci's dedication to this cause, because of his spirit, because of his actions,
and because he believed in a Dog Park for Winter Springs becoming reality — the official Grand Opening of
��t Winter Springs' "Hound Ground" Dog Park, was held on Saturday, March 27, 2010; and
W HEREAS, Due to the dedication, and notable efforts of Bob Rucci, for big dogs and little dogs alike, and also for their
human companions, the City of Winter Springs is an even better place to live.
I I NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOHN E. BUSH, Mayor of the City of Winter Springs and with the appreciation of the City
Commission, do hereby Proclaim the day of April 26, 2010, in honor of
