CONSIDERA TIONS:
On going animal complaints suggest that the current Animal Control Ordinance is not adequate as a tool
for controlling animal nuisances.
It has been suggested that other measures need to be included in the Animal Control Ordinance to make it
more enforceable. One measure recommended is the reinstitution of a limitation on the number of pets
that may be maintained in a household. There may be other measures worthy of consideration.
FUNDING: Not applicable.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is recommended that the Commission decide if it desires to study additional measures that may be
added to the Animal Control Ordinance to improve the city's ability to control pet nuisances and abuses,
including but not limited to reinstituting a limitation on the number of pets that may be kept in a
household, and to establish a workshop date.
