Home My WebLink About2003 06 23 Informational B Capital Improvement Projects ~ COMMISSION AGENDA ITEM B CONSENT INFORMATIONAL X PUBLIC HEARING REGULAR June 23, 2003 Meeting MGR. rv--/DEPT /~ Authorization REQUEST: Public Works Department is advising the City Commission of the status of various Capital Improvement Projects PURPOSE: This agenda item is to update the Commission on the status of current Capitai Improvement projects. CONSIDERA TION: TRAFFIC/TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT SR 434 Improvements (Village Walk)- This project on S.R. 434 from 17-92 to S.R. 419 is in the final design approval stages. 100% drawings have been submitted to FDOT for approval. The $3.8 million dollar project includes medians, landscaping, signalization upgrades, decorative stamped asphalt at the intersections, milling and resurfacing. Additional landscaping will be provided along the corridor where adjacent property owners provide landscape easements. The project is scheduled to be bid in July 2003 with construction commencing in September 2003. Project completion is expected to be in the summer of2004. (4/14/03) Tuskawilla Road / SR 434 Traffic Signal- Construction proceeding. Foundations scheduled for 6/16. Ship date for mast arms 8/8. Estimated Completion September 15, 2003. (6/23/02) Main Street/ Hickory Grove Streetscape - This $781,795.37 project includes sidewalks, irrigation, and landscaping on Tuskawilla Road, Blumberg Boulevard, and Doran Drive in the Town Center. Magnolia Park size (0.64 or 0.79 acres) being negotiated with Schrimsher. Contractor installing irrigation and electrical conduits. Projected completion is November 2003. (6/23/03) SR 434 / Wagner's Curve Traffic Signal - Foundations installed. Mast arm ship date 7/23. Completion August 30, 2003. (6/23/03) SR 419/ Edgemon Traffic Signal - Seminole County to administer per LAP Agreement due to FDOT funding up to $211,000 for the signalization and turn lane improvements. County issued work order to Chinchor Electric in March for the signals. Awaiting FDOT approval mast arm shop drawings. Projected construction completion October 2003. (6/23/03) ~ " June 23,2003 Information Item B Page 2 SR 434 / Doran Drive Traffic Signal - CPH resubmitted warrant analysis response comments to FDOT. We expect approval of the analysis by June 30, 2003. It is likely the City Hall median opening will be required to be changed to a directional only to get signalization at Doran Drive. (6/23/03) SR 434 Highway Beautification Grant - Funding amount approved $214,079.03. Notice to Proceed issued March 2003 for 12 month construction period. Irrigation installation began. Plant material ordering underway. Conflicts with trial bridge being addressed. Work being performed by Public Works and Utility Department staff. (6/23/03) SR 419/ Moss Road Turn Lane - Design complete by PEC. FDOT permit expected by June 25, 2003. Bid Date July 15, 2003. Construction commence September. Construction completion projected December 2003. (6/23/03) Cross Seminole Trail- Design complete by Inwood Consulting. Final approval from FDEP. The proposed construction limits for the paved trail are from Wade Street to approximately 500 east of Magnolia Park and from the SR 434 trail bridge to Gardena. The unpaved portion of the trail and paved portion in the middle of the Schrimsher property impacted by the eagle are not included in the design. (6/23/03) Pedestrian Bridge - Cross Seminole Trail - Construction by the designlbuild team of Jones Bros./Mactec began the week of 6/16. Arbor permit issued by City for some clearing outside the trail corridor. Staff is working with the team on possible upgrades to the fencing and lighting. The designlbuild contract is 18 months. (6/23/03) Fisher Road - Design complete. Commission final approval on June 23 rd. SJRWMD permit received 6/12/2003. (6/23/03) Central Winds Park Boulevard - Preliminary design ongoing by CPH in conjunction with Michael Design Associates. Road configuration is being coordinated with park expansion grading plan. Additional right of way is being requested from Leerdam property. Projected construction start date is Fall 2003. (4/14/03) Deceleration Lane Study - Study underway. Estimated completion date IS October 2003. (6/23/2003) Winter Springs Boulevard Reconstruction - Reviewed project scope with consultant. PEC to provide proposal for pavement analysis and scope of repairs required. (4/14/03) UTILITY 16" Water Distribution Main - Project complete and closed out. (6/23/03) East Water Reclamation Facility Filters - Project complete. Punch list items remain. (6/23/03) - ~ June 23, 2003 Information Item B Page 3 SR 434 Water Main (Vistawilla Road to Spine Road) - Design 90% complete. City Attorney reviewing easement proposed by Casscells. Schrimsher easement is pending. (4/14/03) Utility / Public Works Compound Force Main - Project advertised for bid on 6/8/2003. Bid opening 6/25/2003. Retained Lochrane Engineering to reuse the Respite Center design for permitting and bidding. (6/23/03) Utility / Public Works Compound - SRI provide conceptual site plan and building layouts based on Needs and Space Analysis. Preliminary cost estimate at $2.8 million. Conceptual plan to be finalized by July 15. (4/14/03) Well #4 - Consumptive Use Permit received. Final plan review underway for new proposed well location adjacent to Northern Way in Trotwood Park. (6/23/03) Reclaimed Water Augmentation - CPR revising report to reflect new consumption data provided by staff (4/14/03) PARKS and RECREATION Torcaso Park Expansion - Project complete. Punch list items complete with the exception of lien releases. Met contractor on June 6 to discuss closeout. (6/23/03) Central Winds Park Expansion - Notice to Proceed issued on May 19th for clearing, grubbing and grading. Landscape and irrigation design 75% complete. (6/23/03) COMMISSION ACTION:
