HomeMy WebLinkAbout2003 06 23 Consent E Additional Expenditure for Fisher Road Paving and Drainage Design ,~ COMMISSION AGENDA ITEM E CONSENT X INFORMATIONAL PUBLIC HEARING REGULAR June 23,2003 Meeting MGR f-/nEPT /ff Authorization REQU~ST: Public Works Department Requesting Authorization for Additional Expenditure for Fisher Road Paving and Drainage Design for Consulting Engineering Services with Conklin, Porter & Holmes Engineers, Inc. PURPOSE: The purpose of this Board item is to request authorization for additional expenditure of $34,000 for the paving and drainage design of Fisher Road with Conklin, Porter & Holmes Engineers, Inc. CONSIDERATIONS: This additional expenditure request is needed for the additional costs for the design of the paving, drainage, and traffic cal!TIing improvements to Fisher Road. The stormwater system has been redesigned numerous times before being able satisfactorily obtain a SJRWMD . permit. Additionally, traffic calming was not included in the initial authorization of Amendment 70 which was approved in January 2001. Incorporating the design changes precipitated by the addition of the traffic calming and the consultants participation in the numerous meetings with stakeholders was a significant contributor to the additional costs incurred. The additional costs amount to $34,000. The initial authorization for Amendment 70 was $43,009. FUNDING: The funding source for this additional project expenditure of $34,000 is the construction in progress line code of the Transportation Impact Fee Fund - (140-65000). -:. " June 23, 2003 Consent Agenda Item E Page 2 RECOMMENDA TION: It is recommended that authorization be given for the additional expenditure of $34,000 for the paving, drainage, and traffic calming design of Fisher Road with Conklin, Porter & Holmes Engineers, Inc. payable from the Transportation Impact Fee Fund - (140-65000). IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE: The project will be bid within 14 days of Commission approval. ATTACHMENTS: None COMMISSION ACTION:
