IDEPT~.: Authorization REQUEST: The Parks and Recreation Department wishes to inform the City Commission about a potential Seminole County Funding Source for Senior Transportation. PURPOSE: To inform the Commission that the Parks and Recreation Department will submit a Letter of Intent to the Seminole County Community Service Agency Partnership Grant Program for potential funding for the Senior Transportation Program set up by the City Commission. CONSIDERATION: . The Seminole County Community Service Agency Partnership Grant Program is a potential funding source for Senior Transportation. . A "Letter of Intent" to apply is due by April 1, 2003. . A request for funding application will be sent to staff next month. . Staff will complete the application and request City Commission approval to submit the funding request in the month of May to comply with the June 2, 2003 grant deadline. FUNDING: N/A at this time. RECOMMENDATION: 1 N/A. IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE: April, 2003 May, 2003 By June 2, 2003 October, 2003 Complete application. Request Commission approval to submit funding request. Submit application. This letter is being mailed as a courtesy to ensure that your agency is aware of these new deadlines. If you are not . receiving periodic e-mail from our office (monthly newsletters, reminders, etc.), please call us immediately to verify your e-mail address. If there are any changes to your e-mail, make sure you upd~te this information with our office or you will not receive e-mails related to the C.S.A. Program in the future. We have moved many due dates up this year to allow the Application Review Team (ART) more time to review and analyze applications. The "Notice of Intent" will be posted at our web page and available for. download on 3/1/03. An original copy will be due in our office by 5:00pm on 4/1/03. Failing to meet this deadline will remove your agency from funding consideration in the 2003-04 contract term. RFP funding applications will only be available to the agencies that submit the "Notice of Intent" by the stated deadline. You will also notice that the application will be distributed earlier (4/15/03) and will be due earlier (6/2/03) than last year. You will have" the same amount of time to complete the application, but the new deadline will be 6/2/03.
