HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004 01 12 Consent 201COMMISSION AGENDA ITEM 201 Jan 12, 2004 Meeting CONSENT X INFORMATIONAL PUBLIC HEARING REGULAR MGR/DEPT Authorization REQUEST: Finance Department Requesting a Supplemental Appropriation of $11,025 from the General Fund Fund Balance for the City Clerk's Personnel Costs. PURPOSE: The purpose of this item is to supplement the City Clerk Department for personnel costs as the current budget is insufficient to accommodate the most recent pay raise for the position of City Clerk. CONSIDERATIONS: This supplemental appropriation is needed to cover the projected expenses for the City Clerk department (1210). The original budget provides for approximately $65,800 in salary and related payroll benefits for the position of City Clerk. With a gross salary of $62,000 the total payroll costs are projected to come in at approximately $76,825, a difference of $11,025. FUNDING: The funds would be appropriated from General Fund Reserves to the following line codes: $9,450 City Clerk — Regular Salaries (1210-51210) $725 City Clerk — FICA (1210-52110) $50 City Clerk — Workers Comp (1210-52320) $50 City Clerk — Life/Disability (1210-52310) $750 City Clerk — Pension (1210-52330) $11,025 RECOMMENDATION: The Finance Department recommends the City Commission appropriate $11,025 from the General Fund's Fund Balance to cover projected personnel costs in the City Clerk Department.
