REQUEST: Fire Department Requesting Authorization to Purchase Extrication Equipment
by Piggybacking off of Flagler County Purchasing Policy No. 02-01 (4/1/2002) .
PURPOSE: The purpose of this Commission item is to request authoriz"ation to piggyback off of
Flagler County's extrication equipment purchasing policy No. 02-01 (4/1/2002) for the
purchase of extrication equipment for the Fire Department at a cost of$18,812.01
from Team Industrial & Emergency Equipment, Inc.
CONSIDERATIONS:
This equipment is budgeted for this fiscal year as part of a capital equipment program
item for vehicle crash extrication and rescue equipment for the Fire Department.
Flagler County has extended the opportunity to piggyback off of their purchase of
extrication equipment from Team Industrial & Emergency Equipment, Inc. for
$18,812.01 for the following equipment:
One (1) 28" spreader, one (1) 6" cutter, two (2) 42" telescoping rams, one (1) power
unit, one (1) 33' black/blue extension hose, one (1) 33' yellow/blue extension hose,
one (1) chain set for spreader, includes delivery and training.

FUNDING:
The equipment purchase of$18,812.01 is within budget in the Fire Department other
equipment line code 2240-56410. Expenditure of funds will occur within 30 days.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that authorization be granted to piggyback off of Flagler County's
extrication equipment purchasing policy No. 02-01 (41112002) with Team Industrial &
Emergency Equipment, Inc for the Fire Department at a cost of$18,812.01 payable
from the Fire Department other equipment line code 2240-56410.
IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE:
The delivery of the equipment will occur within the next 30 days.
