REQUEST:
Information Services requests Commission authorize an
additional appropriation in the amount of $2,683 for
additional expenses related to the move of the telephone
system operator to City Hall.
PURPOSE: To obtain additional appropriation in the amount of $2,683 for additional
expenses related to the move of the telephone system operator to City Hall.
CONSIDERATIONS:
The City Commission approved the move of the City telephone operator from the Police
Department to City Hall (Regular Agenda Item 504 11/14/05). Since the Commission
now wants the Operator to perform other additional duties which will require a computer,
a supplemental appropriation is being requested for the following items in the amount of
$2,683 :
· computer
· printer
· UPS
· (2) quad data outlets (data cabling drops)
FUNDING: Since the move is based on the number of calls actually handled by the Operator,
the breakdown should be the same as the previous agenda item (Regular 504, 11/14/05)
as follows:

RECOMMENDATIONS:
That the Commission approve a supplemental appropriation in the amount of $2,683
($1,529 Development Services, $429 Water/Sewer Utilities Fund, $725 General Fund)
for additional expenses related to the move of the telephone system operator to City Hall.
Additional expenses include a computer, UPS, printer, and 2 quad data drops.
IMPLEMENTATION:
The move will not take place until modifications to the City Hall west side lounge is
made to create additional office space. At that time, another office will become available
for the operator on the east side of City Hall. This move should be possible within 30-45
days after commission approval.
