HomeMy WebLinkAbout2006 10 23 Informational 501 Status of 912 Antelope Trail Single Family Home COMMISSION AGENDA ITEM 501 INFORMATIONAL October 23,2006 Meeting Authorization REQUEST: Community Development Department is advising the City Commission of the status of the burned single family home located at 912 Antelope Trail. PURPOSE: This agenda item is to provide current information to the Commission regarding the reconstruction of a house located at 912 Antelope Trail. This house burned on April 27, 2005. CONSIDERATION: The subject house burned on April 27, 2005 causing extensive damage to the roof and all electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems. Subsequent to the fire, the house was sold to the current owner in November 2005. The current owner acquired a demolition permit in March 2006. The last inspection on this permit was September 22, 2006. At the present time, the roof structure and all interior wooden wall sections have been removed. All plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems have been removed in accordance with the demolition permit. The roof and interior wall demolition was partially passed at the September 2200 inspection. The house has been secured. As a result of discussions with the owner, it is staff's understanding that the owner is currently working with an architect to finalize plans for the reconstruction. It is the owners' intention to request a building permit for reconstruction during the first half of November 2006. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the Commission accept this information as a description of the current status of the subject property. Building and Code Enforcement staffwill continue to monitor the progress. COMMISSION ACTION:
