REQUEST: The Parks and Recreation Department is requesting the City Commission's
approval to proceed with the Temporary Paw Park on the Central Winds
Expansion Property (Wincey) per the Concept Plan.
PURPOSE: To obtain Commission approval to proceed with the Paw Park.
CONSIDERATION:
. At the Tuesday, April 2, 2003, Special Meeting of the City Commission, Resolution
2002-16 which established the creation of the Paw Park Committee was approved.
. The Paw Park Advisory Committee presented its report and recommendations to the
City Commission at a Workshop on January 23, 2003.
. At the April 14, 2003 meeting, the City Commission approved $ 15,000 for a
Temporary Paw Park if the friends of Leash Optional Parks would raise $ 3,000.
. The friends of Leash Option Parks raised the $ 3,000, however the Plante Family
decided to not short term lease their property to the City for a Paw Park.
. A back portion of the Central Winds Expansion Property (Wincey) could be used as a
Temporary Paw Park.
FUNDING: $ 15,000 budgeted in FY 03/04.
