Authorization REQUEST: The Public Works Department - Stormwater Division is advising the City Commission on the status of the Project - Removal and Clearing of the Trees and Debris at the Creeks and Canals from the Hurricanes of 2004. PURPOSE: This agenda item is to provide an update on the current progress of the removal and clearing of the trees and debris at the creeks and canals. CONSIDERATION: . The project - removal and clearing of the trees and debris at the creeks and canals was authorized for contract work by the Commission on March 14, 2005. . The City awarded the contracts to Phillips & Jordan, Inc. to perform works at Howell and Bear Creeks, and to A Budget Tree Service, Inc. to perform works at Sheoah, Gee, No Name Creeks and Little Lake Howell Tributary. . The project commenced on April 6, 2005 and completed per creek as follows; Sheoah Creek - April 15, 2005 Howell Creek - April 16, 2005 No Name Creek - April 26, 2005 Gee Creek - April 27, 2005 Bear Creek - May 5, 2005 Little Lake Howell Tributary - June 10,2005 . The project proceeded well and was completed ahead of the schedule. The city staff monitoring and the contractors performing the work received cooperation from the various homeowners associations, property owners and residents adjacent to the creeks and canals making the task easier to accomplish. . The project is now in the process of final inspection for close-out and sign-off. ATTACHMENTS: Pictures taken from the before and after clearing of the creeks and canals.
