REQUEST:
Information Services and the City Clerks Office wishes to
inform The Commission of upcoming W ebLink document
search classes to be offered to residents of Winter Springs.
PURPOSE:
To inform The Commission of upcoming WebLink document search
classes that the City is planning to offer to residents of Winter
Springs.
CONSIDERATIONS:
WebLink is the new on-line program by which you can browse and
search for documents for the City of Winter Springs and is an
efficient and secure Internet gateway to our document archives.
The City of Winter Springs offers this online system to convey instant
access to the following documents: City Commission and Committee
Meeting Documents including Minutes, Agendas, and Agenda Items,
and other documents such as Ordinances, Resolutions, Proclamations,
and Contracts.
The City of Winter Springs Records Management Team, in a public
outreach effort, is planning to offer some basic document search how-
to training on WebLink to residents of Winter Springs.

We plan to offer this training once per month starting in August. It
will be 2 hours in length, including Q&A and some hands-on time and
will be held in the Commission Chambers. There will be a limit of 15
people per class and people can register on a first-come first-served
basis. This training is strictly for residents and registrants will be
required to show ID once they have arrived for class. The reason for
this is so that we can verify that they are a city resident.
Attached is an outline of the training. The proposed schedule for
August - November is:
August 31,2006 6:30-8:30pm City Hall Commission Chambers
September 26, 2006 6:30-8:30pm City Hall Commission Chambers
October 26, 2006 6:30-8:30pm City Hall Commission Chambers
November 30, 2006 6:30-8:30pm City Hall Commission Chambers
There will be no classes offered in December.
People wanting to take the class will be able to register for this class
on our web site at: www.wintersprin2sfl.orl! or by contacting Chris
Edwards at 407-327-7571 or cedwards~wintersprin2sf1.or2. They
will be required to furnish us with: Name, address, and phone
number where they can be reached; an email address will be optional.
We will be advertising this offering through our City newsletter
(when applicable), water bills, and the City's web site.
