REQUEST: City Manager Responding to the Commission Directive Regarding Staff
Participation in Leadership Seminole.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this Board item is to inform the City Commission of the tentative
schedule for staff participation in Leadership Seminole.
CONSIDERATIONS:
This item is in response to the Commission directive of staff participation in the
Leadership Seminole program. We will be enrolling two of the Department Heads per
class with the goal of all Department Heads attending by 2009. The August 2006
program is full. The participants for the February 2007 are tentatively scheduled to be the
Fire Chief and UtilitylPublic Works Director with Police Chief as an alternate.
The Fall 2007 class will have the Police Chief and Community Development
Director with the Parks and Recreation Director as the alternate. The City Clerk, Finance
Director (new baby) and Information Services Director (enrolled in night classes) have all
asked to be scheduled in the later classes.
FUNDING:
Each Department will be responsible for the class costs of $2,000.
