REQUEST: The Finance Department is requesting the City Commission review
information regarding the mail date of the utility bills.
PURPOSE: To inform the City Commission of the mail date of the utility bills.
CONSIDERATIONS:
A question was posed at a previous Commission Meeting regarding the mail date of the utility
bills. It was noted that no postmark is placed on our bills by the post office. The City purchased
postal software that allows us to obtain the lowest rate possible, in turn a postmark is not utilized.
We mail bills one day after we print them. The "bill date" on the bills is the day we print them.
Note the bill date box on the attached sample bill. For example, if the bill you receive has a bill
date of 2/26/02, then it was mailed on 2/27/02.

Garbaga and Recycling:
Garbage and Recycling services are handled by Florida Recycling. Cuestions regarding these services should be directed to their customar service department at (407) 831..1539,
DeOnquent Payments:
If current charges are not paid by the due date, the charges are subject to a $5.00 or 5% late fee. whichever is greater. Previous balance indicates 8 PAST DUE amount. The due date on the front does
not apply to any previous balance. An account with a previous balance is subject to disconnection at any time. In order to reinstate service on an aC~d off for nonpayment. the customer must
pay the lotal amount due plus an additionalturn..on charge of $20,00, Our pOlicy prohibits field personnel from collecting any checks or cash from our customers, Payments must be made in our

How to Read Your Water Meter:

activities on your water consumption, you can easily read your meter. Simply write down all the numbers shown on the face of the meter and deduct a previous reading from this figure to get your water
consumption in thousands of gallons.
