REQUEST: City Manager requesting that the City Commission to authorize the City Manager to
explore discussions with the Wincey family regarding the acquisition of their
property located next to Central Winds Park.
PURPOSE: To explore the possible purchase of the Wincy property for the expansion of Central
Winds Park.
CONSIDERA TIONS:
. The Wincey property is approximately a 9.4-acre tract of land adjacent to Central Winds Park.
. The report and recommendations of the Central Winds Park Expansion Ad Hoc Advisory
Committee encouraged the acquisition of the Wincy property for future consideration.
. The Wincey family met with the City Manager and Staff to express an interest in pursuing
discussions regarding the possible sale of their property to the city.
FUNDING:
The Wincy family has agreed to pay the cost of an updated Boundary Survey and Topo Survey if the
city would pay for the appraisal. We anticipate an appraisal would cost less than $ 5,000. The funds
would be taken from the General Government Contingency Account.
RECOMMENDA TION:
The City Manager is requesting direction to explore the acquisition of the Wincy Family Property
for expansion of Central Winds Park.
