REQUEST: The Public Works Department, Urban Beautification Division, is requesting the
Commission review information on the Lorie Taylor Memorial Dedication
Ceremony.
PURPOSE:
The purpose of this Agenda Item is to provide the Commission additional information
regarding the Lorie Taylor Memorial Dedication to be held on June 18, 2005 in the Oak Forest,
Winter Springs Boulevard median.
CONSIDERATIONS:
The Oak Forest Wall and Beautification District Advisory Board and City Staff wish
to advise the Commission of plans for Dedication of The Lorie Taylor Memorial Garden on Saturday,
June 18,2005, at 10:00 am. The event will be located in Oak Forest, on Winter Springs Boulevard,
in the first median off of Tuskawilla Road.
City Staff and The Oak Forest Wall and Beautification District Advisory Board have
been planning the project since last year. Dick Taylor has offered to purchase a small granite
monument for the garden as a way to memorialize the service that Lorie has provided to the Oak
Forest Community over the past years. Installation of the plant material has been recently completed
by Staff and the monument is to be installed on June 13, 2005.
The Advisory Board is scheduled to finalize the dedication event date and time during
the June 9,2005 Oak Forest Wall and Beautification Advisory Board Meeting.
