HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002 01 28 Consent B City Initiated Future Land Use Designation COMMISSION AGENDA ITEM B Consent X Information Public Hearin2 Re2ular J armary 28. 2002 Meeting M~ /D~ I REQUEST: The Community Development Department requests that the City Commission direct staff to process a City-initiated Future Land Use designation to Low Density Residential and zoning classification to Planned Unit Development for the O.86-acre triangular-shaped tract of land (a portion of D. R. Mitchell's Survey of the Levy Grant, set forth on plat book 1, page 5 of the public records of Seminole County) abutting the northern boundary of lots No. 729 through 741 of Oak Forest, Unit 7, at Tuscawilla. PURPOSE: The purpose of this agenda item is to authorize staff to process of a City- initiated Future Land Use designation to Low Density Residential and zoning classification to Planned Unit Development. CONSIDERATIONS: The property is located adjacent to the northern boundary of Oak Forest, Unit 7, at Tuscawilla. The property was annexed into the City on August 14, 2000, but has not been provided a City of Winter Springs Future Land Use designation or zoning classification. The property was recently acquired collectively by the owners of Lots 729 through 741 of Oak Forest, Unit 7, and was partitioned among the adjacent lot owners. FINDINGS: 1) The property was annexed into the City on August 14,2000, with adoption of Ordinance No. 2000-24. 2) There is no evidence of either a Future Land Use amendment or rezoning application being received or processed. CHRONOLOGY: August 14,2000- City annexes site with adoption of Ordinance No. 2000-24. RECOMENDATION: That the City Commission direct staff to initiate a small-scale Future Land Use amendment to Low Density Residential and rezoning to Planned Unit Development. ATTACHMENTS: A. She said that she remembered it being in the initial site plan, but was removed from her submillaf for Town Center zoning.
