Authorization 04/25105 Regular Meeting REQUEST: The Parks and Recreation Department wishes to infornl the City Commission ofthc .Fruitwood Park Area Survey results and a Future Concept Plan and Cost. PURPOSE: The purpose of this item is to inform the City Commission of the Fmitwood Park Area Survey and also a Future Concept Plan and Cost. CONSIDERA nONS: . The Winter Springs Parks and Recreation Department conducted a neighborhood door to door survey in January - March 2005. . The purpose of the survey was to find out if residents would support the sale of the park if funds received were used to improve nearby Moss Park, if they wanted the Park to stay, and any improvements they desired. . The results of the survey indicated that 67 residents desired to keep the park, 51 residents desired that the city sell the park and make improvement to Moss Park, and 6 had no opnllon. . StaiTsummary of the survey is as follows: I. A small majority of the resident's desire for the park to stay at this location and it should stay there. 2. There is a need to provide improvements to the neighborhood park that i."l the only mini-park in the parks system. FUNDING: N/A. RECOMMENDA nONS: This item is only for informational purposes.
