Authorization REQUEST: The Parks and Recreation Department is requesting that the City Commission approve a Supplemental Appropriation from General Fund Reserves in the amount of $ 2,461.00 to provide the funding to replace the Ice Machine at the Senior Center from Gulf Ice Systems, Inc. PURPOSE: The purpose of this item is to provide the necessary funding to replace the Ice Machine at the Senior Center. CONSIDERA TIONS: . The Ice-O-Matic Ice Machine at the Senior Center stopped working in April 2006. . TWC, the Parks and Recreation Department Contracted Repair Service evaluated the machine. The cost to repair it with new motor and new plates was $ 1,990,05. . The unit is over 10 years old. . Staff obtained prices for a new unit from three vendors. . The best price and service to replace and upgrade the unit from a 400LB Unit to a 500LB Unit is. $ 2,461.00 through State of Florida Contract # 740-650-04-1 with GulfIce Systems, Inc. FUNDING: This request is not budgeted and will require $ 2,461.00. Sufficient funding is not available for this Capital Equipment in the Senior Center Budget. An Appropriation from the General Fund Reserves is needed. IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE: May 23, 2006 Do a purchase order to Gulf Ice Systems Inc. for the Ice Machine. June 1, 2006 Estimated date the installation will be completed by Gulf Ice Systems.
