REQUEST: Community Development Department, Urban Beautification Services Division,
Requesting Authorization To Purchase (1) Ford F-150 Pickup Truck By
Piggybacking Off Of Florida Sheriff's Association Bid #04-12-0823.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this Board item is to request authorization to piggyback off of Florida
Sheriff's Association Bid #04-12-0823 for the purchase of (1) Ford F-150 4x2 Pickup
Truck for Urban Beautification Services at a cost of $17,060 from Don Reid Ford, Inc.
CONSIDERATIONS:
This vehicle is needed to replace a primary service vehicle used for daily activities
of the Urban Beautification Services Division including maintenance of trees and plant
material located on the SR 434 roadway. The pickup truck being replaced has far exceeded
the recommended service life as specified by the City's Fleet Manager and has become a
continual problem. The total price for the new Ford F-150 4x2 Pickup is $17,060, to be
purchased under the Sheriff's Association Vehicle Bid #04-12-0823.

FUNDING:
The purchase price for the Ford F-150 4x2 Pickup Truck, as specified above, in
the amount of $17,060 shall be funded from the Arbor Fund (11 0). The expenditure will
occur within 60 to 90 days.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that authorization be granted to piggyback off of Florida
Sheriff's Association Bid #04-12-0823 with Don Reid Ford, Inc. for the purchase of (1)
Ford F-150 4x2 pickup truck for the Urban Beautification Services Division at a total cost
of$17,060; payable from the Arbor Fund (110).
IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE:
The delivery ofvehic1e will occur within the next 60 to 90 days.
