Re: SCEA Municipal Representation
Dear Commissioner Brender:
This letter comes all a follow up to your dIscussion with Sheralyn Brinson. of our offiee. regarding your
term on the SCEA Board. Your term on the SCEA Board expires In May 2004, thus creating a
vacancy. You have expressed an Interest In being re-appointed to the Board. You are eligible to
serve on the Board for whatever period you continue as a sitting elected municipal official. for
reference, the municipal representative's term is two years.
It is our understanding CALNO will discuss this matter at their April 5, 2006. meeting. Because of the
requirements of Chapter 348, Florida statutes, CALNO's recommendation needs to be affirmed by a
majority of the municipalities and approved by the Seminole County Board of County
Commissioners (BCC). In order to meet agenda submittal requirements for the BCC, we respectfully
request receipt of each City's letter ratifying CALNO's recommendation by April 20. 200&. By copy
of this letter. we are advisIng each City Manager of thIs schedule.
We look forward to receiving the municIpal endorsements of CALNO's recommendation and plan to
forward same to the County Commission for action at the May, 2006. BCC meeting.
