Required Investment Training
Gene,
Our Investment Consultant has arranged for an investment training session on the evening of Wednesday, September 12,
2001 for the Pension Board, the Commission, the City Manager, myself and you.
There is a gentleman flying in from Pennsylvania to perform the training along with our local consultant.
The training session will be a 4 hour session from 5pm to 9pm.
This is a mandatory training in accordance with the new Florida Statute for municipal investments including pension funds.
We will arrange for a sandwich dinner.
There will also be an additional training the next morning on the 13th for 4 hours, this is because as Finance Director I
must have a total of 8 hours on investment training annually.
The training on the 12th will be more general and I encourage the Commission and the Pension Board to try to attend that
training. However, if one of the members of the Commission or Pension Board is unable to arrange their schedule for the
12th, perhaps they can for the 13th instead, Note however, that this training will be more geared toward my job.
Due to the costs involved with this training, these will be the only slots available.
Please arrange to have all parties notified regarding the required investment training.
I will need a headcount for materials and food as soon as possible.
