REQUEST: The City Manager requesting the Commission, to approve dates for the Town
Center training.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this agenda item is for the Commission to establish a date for the
Commission to have training on the Town Center Code relative to their duties as the D.R.C. for
the Town Center.
CONSIDERATIONS:
The City Commission at the advice of the city attorney has assumed the role ofD.R.C. for Town
Center Site Plan approvals.
The Commission, upon the advice of the City Manager has agreed to undergo the same training
initially provided to staff regarding the provisions of the Town Center Code.
Dover, Kohl & Partners has established the following dates for the training:
May 23 - 25, 2001
May 30 - 31, 2001
June 20 - 22, 2001
June 27 - 29, 2001
The training will last approximately 3 hours.

FUNDING: The training will cost $950.00, plus out of pocket expenses estimated to be
approximately $400.00. Sufficient funds are available in the Community Development
Department Budget.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Commission choose one of the following dates for Town Center
training.
May 23 - 25, 2001
May 30 - 31, 2001
June 20 - 22, 2001
June 27 - 29, 2001
