REQUEST: The Customer Service Department requests the City Commission consider information about the naming of one street: Roberts Family Lane as requested by Commissioner Michael Blake. PURPOSE: The purpose of this agenda item is to provide information to the commission on the availability of street names and approval by Seminole county's E911 office. CONSIDERATIONS: . On December 13th, 2004 Commissioner Blake under report 608 requested the naming of two streets along the south side of SR 434 to Roberts Lane . On December 1 ih, 2004 the Customer Service Division checked with the county's E911 office and received a denial of Roberts Lane since it is already in use within the county. . The county's E 911 recommended a prefix before the name such as "Sir Robert Lane" as a street name. The name was reserved for the city's use if the commission desired it. . On January 10th, 2005 under Agenda Item # 503 commission determined that "Sir Roberts Lane" was not appropriate for use. . On January 18th, 2005 the Customer Service Division discussed with the county's planning division and E-911 if Roberts Family could be utilized as a street name. The county agreed and advised that city staff determine the street designation; Lane Way or Road. Staff decided the use of Roberts Family Lane as the street designation. 1 January 24,2005 REGULAR AGENDA ITEM 506 Page 2 ATTACHMENT: Highlander Project Concept Plan ST AFF RECOMMENDATION: The commission approves the naming of Roberts Family Lane when the Highlander Project Platt is brought forward for approval.
