REQUEST:
City Manager requests that the City Commission establish a workshop date to meet with
the Winter Springs Planning and Zoning Board to discuss the role of the Planning and
Zoning Board as it relates to annexations.
BACKGROUND:
The Planning and Zoning Board has requested that the City Code of Ordinances be
amended to include the Planning and Zoning Board in the annexation process. It was
reported that the Planning and Zoning Board, in the past, had the authority to review and
make recommendations on pending annexations.
Staff and City Attorney will review the Florida Statutes and the practices of other similar
communities to provide additional information for the workshop.
