Authorization
REQUEST: The Parks and Recreation Department is requesting The City Commission to
authorize increased pricing of 3 products and decreased pricing of 1, and the addition
of 5 new products sold at the Central Winds Park concession.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this item is to receive commission authorization to increase and
decrease prices and add new products to enable the city's concession operations to
continue to make a small profit.
ISSUE ANALYSIS:
. On February 14,2000, The City Commission approved increased pricing to all products sold at
the Central Winds Park concession and, also, recommended that the staff review and request
price increases as needed (yearly).
. For the first time in six years, the concession operation at Central Winds Park experienced an
operational profit of $1,769. The operation for FY 99/2000, also had inventory at year-end of
$2,837.
. Staff is recommending the price increase of 3 products and the price reduction of 1 product so
they are more in line with pricing on similar products. Also, the staff requests addition of 5 new
products that customers commonly request.
