REQUEST: The Parks and Recreation Department is notifying the City Commission of the
Department's intent to schedule the official Grand Opening of Torcasso Park on
Saturday, December 2,2000.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this item is to advise the Commission of the Department's intent to
conduct an official Grand opening of Torcasso Park.
CONSIDERATIONS:
. On August 30,1999, the City Commission awarded the bid for the Parks Improvement Program.
. On October 24, 1999, an official GroundBreaking Ceremony was held at Torcasso Park.
. Torcasso Park construction is scheduled to be complete by November 17,2000.
. The Parks and Recreation Department will promote this community event with speeches and
ceremony to begin at 11 AM and lunch for all immediately afterward.
FUNDING:
All necessary funding for the promotion and the ceremony will be taken from existing and
budgeted promotional line codes.
