We are very appreciative of last year's funding and hope that we can count on Winter Springs again this year. Attached is the most recent waiting list data for Winter Springs. I've also enclosed the Winter Springs client demographics previously mailed. We hope the commissioners will say yes to this request. Other governmental funding has not kept pace with the needs and we have to count on local entities to provide for their own constituents. Please give me a call if you need further information. Thank you so much. Kind Regards, ~ ~, '-~ `~ Sherry Fincher Executive Director SF:bd Attachment 2801 S. We are asking for funding to provide services which help seniors maintain their independence and remain living in their own homes for as long as possible. Attached are the number of Winter Springs clients we presently serve in various programs. I would also like to point out that there are 23 homebound Winter Springs residents on the waiting list for home-delivered meals and 5 are waiting for homemaking services. As our demographics shift to an older population, we can expect waiting lists to continue growing. The difference in what it costs to provide current services to Winter Springs seniors and what is received from our major funders is $11,425.79. (Of course, this does not account for any waiting list clients.) We are asking the City to consider a contribution in the amount of $5,000 to help defray this amount. Thank you so much for your past support. We appreciate your vote of confidence in our work and hope that you will carefully consider this request. If you have any questions or would like more information, please give me a call at (407) 333-8877, ext. 110 or email at sfincher(a~mealsetc.org. Our web site is www.mealsetc.ors. I will also be happy to attend a city commission meeting to answer questions. Warm Regards, Sherry Fincher Executive Director SF:bd Attachment cc: Mayor John Bush City Commissioners 2801 S.
