HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000 10 16 Informational A Village Walk Concept Plan and Traffic Circulation P' (J COMMISSION WORKSHOP ITEM A Consent Informational X Pu blie Hearing Regular October 16. 2000 Meeting Mgr. / Authorizat' REQUEST: The Community Development Department requests the City Commission conduct a workshop at 6:30 p.m. to discuss a proposal to refine the S.R. 434 Village Walk Concept plan and to evaluate the traffic circulation in the area. PURPOSE: The purpose of this agenda item is to ask the Commission to conduct a workshop on October 16th to discuss the Village Walk concept plan and to evaluate traffic circulation in the area. APPLICABLE LAW AND PUBLIC POLICY: The provisions of 163.3167(11) F.S. which states: Each local government is encouraged to articulate a vision of the future physical appearance and qualities of its community as a component of its local comprehensive plan. The vision should be developed through a collaborative planning process with meaningful public participation and shall be adopted by the governing body of the jurisdiction. Skilling & Assoc. in association with Harlan Hanson Inc. and Traffic Planning & Design Inc. to refine the S.R. 434 Village Walk concept and to evaluate traffic circulation in the area. · The Consultants will be present to present design concepts for the S.R. 434 Village Walk and to discuss alternative traffic circulation patterns in the area. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Staff suggests that the Commission meet with Michael Wadley of Marion I. Skilling & Assoc. in association with Harlan Hanson, Harlan Hanson Inc. andTurgut Dervish, Traffic Planning & Design Inc. to consider preliminary concepts for the S.R. 434 Village Walk and to evaluate traffic circulation in the area.
