Raymond Construction for the construction of sidewalk improvements in front of Building 4 in the Town Center at a cost of $73,552. PURPOSE: This agenda item is needed for the City to enter into a contract agreement for public sidewalk improvements in front of Building 4 of the Town Center to coincide with the completion of building construction. CONSIDERATIONS: • Town Center Building 4 is currently under construction at Tuskawilla Road, north of Tree Swallow Drive, directly adjacent to Building 3. Construction of Building 4 is expected to be complete within the next 45 to 65 days. The original design plans for Building 4 maintained the existing angled on-street parking in front of the building along Tuskawilla Road. The City desires to have the on-street parking in front of Building 4 converted to parallel parking to create wider sidewalks along Tuskawilla Road, similar to the existing sidewalks in front of Buildings 1, 2 and 3. In addition, the Building 4 finished floor elevation has been set based on the planned conversion to parallel parking; therefore, it would be difficult to maintain the existing diagonal parking and still meet sidewalk design standards. • The sidewalk in front of Building 4 must be complete before a certificate of occupancy can be granted and tenants can occupy the building. 121007 COMM Consent 207_Building_4_Sidewalk Add-On 121007_COMM_Consent_207_Building_4_Sidewalk_Add-On Page 2 of 2 The City solicited proposals from the following companies pursuant to construction of this project with the following results. Raymond Construction, as outlined in the construction cost estimate provided to the City on October 15, 2007. RECOMMENDATIONS: It is recommended the Commission authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract agreement with J. Raymond Construction for the construction of sidewalk improvements in front of Building 4, as per plans provided by Starmer Ranaldi Architecture, Inc., in the amount of $73,552. ATTACHMENTS: A) J.
