REQUEST: Utility Department Informing the City Commission the Reclaimed Water Main Break
on Seneca Boulevard did not occur on the new main.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this Board item is to inform the City Commission that Reclaimed Water Main
break that recently occurred on Seneca Boulevard was not on the new main and therefore not
under warranty.
CONSIDERA TIONS:
A reclaimed water break occurred on July 5th on Seneca Boulevard at the intersection of
Olean Court. At the July 10th City Commission meeting the question was raised as to whether the
break was covered under warranty, The recently completed reclaimed water main extension project
began at Owasco Street and headed west. The break occurred on a main that has been in the ground
since approximately 1986 and therefore is not covered under warranty.
