REQUEST: City Manager requesting the Commissiol1l to approve a settlement offer with
Unicorp National Development Inc. in the amount of $164,744.09 for traffic signal mast
arm improvements at the intersection of State Roads 434 and 419.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this item is to settle the issue of funds due to Unicorp for
constructing mast arm improvements at the intersection of State Roads 434 and 419 related to the
new Eckerds Drugstore.
CONSIDERATION: On February 28, 2000, the Commission approved a development
agreement with Unicorp to build an Eckerd Drugstore at the intersection of State Roads 434 and
419. Among other things the agreement called for Unicorp to construct intersection
improvements desired by the city including brick paved crosswalks and decorative traffic signal
mast arms. The city and Unicorp desired to finalize payments due Unicorp relative to the project
and have reached a settlement of $164,744.09 more full y described in the attached letter.
FUNDING: The $164,744.09 will be charged to the transportation impact fee fund.
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the settlement offer with Unicorp be approved
in the amount of $164,744.09 as more specifically defined in the attached Unicorp letter of June
16,2000.

pass un fees and penulties to the City for further delays.
