PURPOSE: The purpose of this agenda item is to inform the City Commission of the requirement to mail an Addendum to the Annual Drinking Water Report to our customers. CONSIDERA TIONS: The Environmental Protection Agency requires all water purveyors to complete an annual drinking report and deliver that report to their customers. The cities Annual Drinking Water Report was prepared by staff and was mailed to customers on June 13th. On July 30th we received a notice from the local DEP that our report contained errors. The range of results for West systems Haloacetic Acids and the TTHM's were incorrect and the results for Nitrates were omitted from the report. The required addendum has been prepared and found acceptable by the DEP. To comply with the DEP requirements the Addendum was put on the Cities web site and copies will also be mailed with the water bills in the month of August. The inadequate and omitted information are minor omissions and do not present a health hazard. The Nitrates results for the cities water system were not included in the report and an error was made on the range of results for the Winter Sorings West system for the Haloacetic Acids and the Trihalomethanes.
