REQUEST:
The Parks and Recreation Department wishes to inform the City
Commission about the Winter Springs Star Spangled Showcase on July 4,
2007 and the Finalists.
PURPOSE:
The purpose is this item is to inform the City Commission about the
Winter Springs Star Spangled Showcase and Finalists.
CONSIDERATIONS:
. The Star-Spangled is brand new to Winter Springs but many in TV Land will identify it
as Winter Springs' version of the hit show, American Idol.
. This past May, twelve (12) auditioned for this contest and now 6 have moved on for
rights to be named the First Ever Star Spangled Showcase Winner on July 4th as part of
the Celebration of Freedom at Central Winds Park.
. The contest features 6 Musical Acts for all whom reside in the City limits who plan to
take stage to perform (2) songs.
. The Showcase will begin at 5:00 PM on the stage located on Field #1 at Central Winds
Park.
. The Finalists are:
Ericka Long: Residing at 211Sweetgum Court, A Graduate of Lyman High School who
enjoys traveling, Karaoke, and Outdoor Activities.
William Bernard: Residing at 131 Cory Lane.

Kristin Eley: Residing at 131 Cory Lane is a student at Oviedo High School who loves
singing and playing the piano. Kristin also enjoys Broadway Shows.
Jennifer Holloran: Residing at 562 Green Spring Circle is a Graduate of Lincoln Park
High School in Fort Pierce, FL. Her Hobbies include Music and Reading.
Lisa Firestone: Residing at 1103 Marcus Court is a Song Writer and Musician.
Nikki Peters: Residing at 216 Panama Road has a Bachelor's Degree in Poetry and
Masters in English Education. Nikki plays Violin and Guitar.
. Finalists who can attend will be at the June 25, 2007, City Commission Meeting at
5:15pm.
