REQUEST: The Parks and Recreation Department is notifying the City Commission of
the Department's intent to schedule the official Grand Opening of Trotwood
Park and the 5th Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Trotwood Park on Saturday,
April 15, 2000.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this item is advise the Commission of the Department's intent
to conduct an official Grand Opening of Trotwood Park in conjunction with
the Parks and Recreation Department's 5th Annual Easter Egg Hunt.
CONSIDERATIONS:
. On August 30, 1999, the City Commission awarded the bid for the Parks Improvement
Program.
. On October 24,1999, an official GroundBreaking Ceremony was held at Trotwood
Park.
. Trotwood Park construction is scheduled to be complete by April 1, 2000.
. Combining the Easter Egg Hunt with the Grand Opening will provide the City with an
opportunity to make the Grand Opening a large scale community event.
FUNDING:
All necessary funding for the promotion and the ceremony will be taken from
existing and budgeted promotional line codes.

9:30am-ll:30am Refreshments, donuts and cookies
will be served to the public (Pavilion)
10:00am Commissioners and Mayor will speak (Stage)
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony (Stage)
10:30am Announcement of age groups and location for hunt (Stage)
10:35am Fire truck comes with Easter Bunny
Siren starts hunt
10:40am Start handing out prizes and begin contests (Pavilion)
10:45am Pictures with Easter Bunny and Grand Prize Winners
