REQUEST:
To inform the City Commission regarding the banner in the Town Center
for the Easter Egg Hunt.
PURPOSE:
To inform the City Commission regarding the banner.
CONSIDERA TIONS:
. The April 9, 2007, Commission Brown requested further information regarding the
banner in the Town Center for the Easter Egg Hunt. Specifically, Commissioner Brown
wanted to know why Easter was left off the banner and who paid for the banner.
. The Easter Egg Hunt Banner was placed in the Town Center for the first time. Previous
years only signs were placed throughout the city. The signs were used again this year.
. The City of Winter Springs Parks and Recreation paid for the banner at a cost of $ 845.28
from budgeted funds.
. The wording was done by Parks and Recreation staff. Easter was left off the main title
content due to concerns with maintaining religious neutrality.
FUNDING:
$ 845.38 from Account 7240-54800.
