J REQUEST: The Public Works Department requests that the City Commission listen to a presentation from Carter-Burgess regarding the status of the US 17/92 roadway widening project from Shepard Road to Lake Mary Boulevard PURPOSE: '[he purpose of this Agenda Item is to request that the City Commission listen to a presentation from Carter-Burgess regarding the status of the US 17/92 roadway widening project from Shepard Road to Lake Mary Boulevard CONSIDERATIONS: The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is conducting a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study for SR 15/600 (US 17/92) from Shepard Road to Lake Mary Boulevard. FDOT is proposing to widen US 17/92 from four to six lanes along this corridor. Please refer to the attached project summary sheets for more information. Carter-Burgess is FDOT's engineering consultant for the project. The presentation will be given by Ms. Lynne Marie Whatley, Consultant Project Manager - PD&E, and Mr. Eric Wooley, Consultant Project Manager - Design. ACCESS MANAGEMENT Based on discussions with Seminole County and the FDOT, the need to eliminate or revise median openings throughout the corridor is an important issue for this project.
